Baaghi 4 Movie Review: Tiger Shroff Returns With Action Overload but Weak Story
After four long years, Tiger Shroff returns to his home turf with Baaghi 4, aiming to take the high-octane franchise to the next level. This installment promises more action, bloodshed, and drama, with Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa, and debutante Harnaaz Sandhu joining the ride. Directed by A. Harsha, the film marks his foray into Hindi cinema.
Storyline
The plot revolves around Ronnie (Tiger Shroff), who once again finds himself on a revenge mission. Packed with martial arts, slasher sequences, and brutal combat, Baaghi 4 raises the action spectacle. The story introduces Ranveer Pratap Singh, a defence officer madly in love with Dr. Alisha D’Souza. Their love story, however, takes a tragic turn when Alisha dies.
Meanwhile, Ronnie suffers a severe accident, leaving him brain-dead. Months later, he recovers, but the trauma haunts him. He begins hallucinating Alisha’s presence, while people around him dismiss it as a mental struggle. Soon, these hallucinations hint at something far more sinister — possibly a conspiracy against him.
Execution
The first half of Baaghi 4 is choppy and uneven, relying too heavily on song-and-dance routines. Ronnie and Alisha’s romance feels formulaic and offers nothing new. The slow-motion shots and over-the-top romantic sequences add to the déjà vu.
Where the film attempts grit, it falls into superficial staging. Action set-pieces, dance breaks, and dramatic pauses are stitched together without flow, leading to a broken and confusing narrative.
Performances
Tiger Shroff continues to showcase his physique and martial arts skills, which may please his loyal fans. However, his performance lacks depth beyond the action sequences. Sanjay Dutt brings intensity but is underutilized, while Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu have little scope to shine in this male-dominated narrative.
Verdict
Baaghi 4 delivers on raw action and fan service but falters badly in storytelling. While Tiger Shroff’s bare-chested stunts and slick moves might excite his core audience, the weak screenplay and disjointed execution make the film uninspiring.
