India’s Yogesh Kathuniya won a silver medal in the men’s discus throw F56 event with a season-best throw of 44.38m.

Yogesh Kathuniya was born on 3rd March 1997. He is an Indian Paralympic athlete who specializes in the discus throw. He represented India at the 2020 summer Paralympic and in Dubai 2019 World Olympic in the discus throw F56.

24-Year-Old Yogesh Kathuniya is ranked World No. 2 in his category, lived up to the final of the Tokyo Paralympics. He has won a silver medal in the event whereas, Cuba’s Diaz Aldana won the bronze medal in the event.

Yogesh Kathuniya’s medal is also India’s 4th confirmed medal at the Tokyo Paralympics medal tally from1984 and 2016. Yogesh Kathuniya who hails from New Delhi experienced a paralysis attack that resulted in impaired coordination in his limbs when he was 8 years old. But kathunia went on to take up para-athletics and made his international debut as recently as 2018
