OnePlus seems to be preparing to introduce a new gaming-centric smartphone series, the next OnePlus Turbo gaming phone will be also the most powerful device that the brand has teased in years. Various leaks, benchmark listings, and tipster reports now provide us with a glimpse of what the Turbo series has in store, and it is expected to be unveiled in China next month.
The Turbo series is expected to heavily emphasize on performance, display quality and battery life, making it more of a high-value gaming flagship as opposed to a regular premium phone.

OnePlus Turbo Display Specifications (Expected)

Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station posted on Weibo that OnePlus Turbo will sports BOE made custom 1.5K LTPS display with an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. This panel is supposedly customised for gaming and long term use.
The display is also equipped with self-developed “Display P3 Lite” chip and incorporated with flagship level acuity luminescent materials. The combination is said to provide near-flagship-level colour accuracy and has the added benefit of reducing power consumption and extending panel life.
It’s also worth mentioning another highlight feature: eye protection. The OnePlus Turbo screen is rumored to support high-frequency PWM dimming, which can effectively reduce eye fatigue when gaming or watching videos for a long time. They also say the bezels are “ultra-thin,” with the “wood grain thickness” being the thinnest ever on a Xiaomi phone “in some places” and the “black bar width” being surprisingly thin for the class.
If these reports are true then this could be the only BOE high-end display available in its anticipated price category, offering the perfect balance of high refresh rate, eye comfort and visual pleasure.
