Happy Navratri 2022
Navratri starts from Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. It is also known as Navratri. These Navratri have special significance in Hinduism. During these 9 days, nine forms of Maa Durga are worshipped. This time Navratri is starting from 26th September and on 5th October, the day of Vijay Dashami, Navratri would end on Durga Visarjan.
It is a religious belief that during Navratri, Mother Durga comes to the earth among the devotees and blesses them with the fulfillment of their wishes. To get the blessings of Maa Ambe, 9 forms of Maa Durga are worshiped during these 9 days. Fasting, worship, etc. are done, so that Maa Durga can be pleased. Different goddesses are worshiped on 9 days of Navratri. After this, fasting is done by performing Kanjak on Ashtami and Navami Tithi. Let us know which day is Mahashtami and Navami date this time.
Navratri Mahashtami 2022
In Hinduism, Goddess Durga is worshiped on the nine days of Navratri according to the date. Ashtami and Navami Tithi move back and forth due to increase or decrease of date. According to astrology, the decay of the date of Navratri is considered inauspicious. This time Mahashtami fast will be kept on 3rd October. Maa Mahagauri is worshiped on this day. At the same time, Navami will be done on October 4. On this day there is a law to worship Maa Siddhidatri. Maa Durga is immersed on the 10th day of Navratri on 5th October.
Significance of Mahanavami
According to religious stories, Maa Durga fought for 9 days against the demon king Mahishasura. Therefore this festival is celebrated for 9 days. On the last day of Navratri i.e. Navami was won over the evil of Maa Durga. Hence it is also known as Mahanavami.

October 1 (sixth day) – Worship of Mother Katyayani
October 2 (seventh day) – Worship of Maa Kalratri
October 3 (Eighth Day) – Worship of Maa Mahagauri
October 4 (Ninth day) – Worship of Maa Siddhidatri
October 5 (tenth day) – Vijayadashami or Dussehra
