The Paxo court on Monday convicted the accused Kapil in the case of rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Modinagar police station area of Ghaziabad. Now the sentence of the guilty in this case will be pronounced on March 15, 2023.
Special Public Prosecutor Paxo Act Sanjeev Bakharwa said that on August 18, 2022, Kapil Kashyap, a resident of the village, had taken two girls aged 9 and 6 from a village in Modinagar by sitting on a bicycle on the pretext of feeding them ice cream.
He tried to rape the girls by taking them to the sugarcane field, the 6-year-old girl managed to escape from there. Kapil raped a nine year old girl. After this, he was strangled to death. The next day the dead body of the girl child was found and on the complaint of the relatives, the police registered an FIR.
Police presented 14 witnesses
Following the complaint, the police arrested the accused and produced him in the court, from where he was sent to jail. Within just seven days, the police filed a charge sheet in the court in this case. On 14 September 2022, Kapil was accused in the court. The hearing of the matter was taken up, during which 14 witnesses were produced. On the basis of witnesses and evidence, the court convicted Kapil on Monday.
