ECOSAC Launches Ecopath- A Line of Biodegradable Consumer Products

The brand now aims at removing plastic from your home and personal care products.

Mumbai, October 5, 2022: Ecosac, a leading brand of eco-friendly shopping bags, launches ‘Ecopath’ to lead India into a sustainable way of life. As the name suggests, the brand envisages calling upon citizens to adopt the ‘Eco-path’ for life; calling the eco-conscious citizens dedicated and committed to following the path as ‘Ecopaths’ (to be read as ‘Eco-paeths’ in this context). While 175 countries resolve to end plastic pollution at the UN environment assembly, Ecosac puts its best foot forward to join the global mission, adding a wide range of eco-friendly consumer products under Ecopath.

As per a study, 60% of all consumer products majorly contribute to the global carbon footprint. To aid this concern, Ecopath offers eco-friendly alternatives for daily use consumer products to ‘Ecopaths’, who believe in the concept of environmentalism. These products made using responsibly sourced natural and biodegradable raw materials range from coir dishwashing scrub pads, paper stem cotton buds, wooden toothbrushes, tongue cleaners, wooden combs, bamboo straws, wooden shaving brushes and razors to compostable garbage bags named Kachra sack (which are widely available in all major supermarkets).

“We make the world a more dangerous place every single day, ignoring the harm being done to our planet with our appetite for single-use plastic”, says Anil Chowta, Founder and CEO of Ecosac. Anil Founded Ecosac in 2016, intrigued about the growing amount of plastic bags being thrown on the side of highways and into local water bodies.

The concept of Ecopath entails adopting sustainability over consumerism and making conscious choices for living. “Our prime focus as a brand is on the concept of ‘reuse’. Our hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s vision of attaining net zero carbon footprint by 2070, coupled with the global agenda of ending single-use plastic pollution gives a great impetus to our pursuit of providing sustainable solutions as an eco-friendly brand”, adds Anil.

In spite of the growing menace of single-use plastic and other single-use products, there is a higher level of awareness amongst consumers. “The modern-day market is turning eco-conscious, rather than price sensitive. With Ecopath, we aim at curating quality sustainable solutions for day-to-day needs at an affordable price. We shall be adding 200 new products to our existing range, thereby creating an Eco-path for our patrons, one product at a time”, he adds.

“We not only want to make sustainable products in more categories in the consumer goods space. But more critically, make our customers stakeholders of sustainable living”, says Ashwath Chowta, Co-Founder, Ecopath, who has been conducting awareness campaigns with the youth at the grassroot level.

Anil stepped into the business world in the year 1990 with Falcon as a brand providing training kits to more than 3000 engineering colleges globally. An engineer in Electronics & Telecommunication, he explored the field of technical training products for 22 years. While he successfully built a scalable business at Falcon, his burning desire to impact the society and the environment at large led him to founding his sustainable products brand- Ecosac in 2016. The exorbitant amount of single use plastic and paper bags consumed around the globe and its consequences on the environment intrigued Anil, thus giving rise to a new hustle in the FMCG and Retail sector.

He curated Ecosac with an aim to eradicate single use plastic and paper shopping bags. The ecopreneur thereafter launched Kachra Sack- compostable and oxo- degradable garbage bags to replace the plastic garbage bags that end up as deadly waste in landfills and oceans. During the pandemic, Anil set up a robust structure for the distribution of garbage bags to housing societies and end consumers across the country.

Anil has recently launched brand ‘Ecopath’ to call upon citizens to adopt the ‘Eco-path’ for life. While 175 countries resolve to end plastic pollution at the UN environment assembly, he has joined the global mission, adding a wide range of eco-friendly consumer products under Ecopath. Anil strongly advocates India’s vision of attaining net zero carbon footprint by 2070, thereby supporting the global agenda of ending single use plastic pollution. He envisages creating an eco-path for eco-conscious citizens, one product at a time.

As a nature lover, Anil takes keen interest in nature photography. While he actively dwells in fitness and sports activities, he has made volleyball a part of his weekly routine. The adrenaline rush however, comes from his business where he sees scope to transform the way the world is living!
