The BJP’s main weapon in the election is now the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is no doubt about it. Since the year 2014, BJP has fought almost every election by leading PM Modi.
In the state where the assembly elections were held, the BJP has been telling the face of the Chief Ministers as well. In 2018, Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh, Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan and Yogi Adityanath in UP in 2022 were also the faces. At the same time, Hindutva has always been the main weapon of BJP in these elections.
Talking about Gujarat, it has been called the laboratory of BJP’s Hindutva politics and PM Modi has been its biggest poster boy. BJP has been in power for the last 27 years, in which Narendra Modi has been the Chief Minister for three consecutive terms.
Along with Hindutva, Patel equations have always played a major role in the Gujarat elections. In the 2017 elections, the BJP had suffered a lot due to the Patel reservation movement. The party was stuck on 99 seats. Congress got the benefit of this reservation. Although the government was formed by the BJP itself and in the subsequent by-elections, the BJP’s seats increased.
