PM Narendra Modi Mother Heeraben Passed Away: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passed away on Friday. She was 100 years old. Heeraben breathed his last at 3.30 am at UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shouldered the bier of his mother Heeraben. The PM himself reached the cremation ground in the same ambulance in which his mother’s body was kept. Other family members were also present with him.

PM Modi’s love for mother Heeraben is well known. He often remembers his mother’s words. He also mentioned Heeraben in many programmes. On Heera Ba’s 100th birthday, Prime Minister Modi wrote in his blog that his mother Heeraben was born in Palanpur, Visnagar, Mehsana district of Gujarat. It is very close to Vadnagar. Heeraben’s mother i.e. PM Modi’s maternal grandmother died at a young age from the Spanish flu epidemic. Heeraben could not even remember her mother’s face. Heeraben spent his entire childhood without his mother.
When PM Modi wept remembering mother’s struggle
Prime Minister Modi has mentioned about Heeraben struggle many times in an emotional way. During a conversation with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in 2015, PM Modi recalled his mother’s struggles and said, ‘After my father’s death, mother used to go to other’s houses to clean utensils to make a living and feed us. She used to fill water. During this, PM Modi wept emotionally.
PM Modi reached Ahmedabad and paid tribute to his late mother Heeraben Modi while paying his last respects.

Used to work herself
PM Modi wrote in his blog how his mother not only used to do all the household chores herself, but also used to work in other’s homes to support the family. PM Modi used to often remember that small house in Vadnagar, whose roof and walls were made of mud. Where he lived with his parents and siblings.

The secret of Heeraben healthy life even at the age of 100 was simple living, simple food and positive thoughts. Sleeping early and getting up early to do bhajan and worship were included in his daily activities. Heeraben was married to Damodardas Mulchand Modi. Heeraben and Damodardas had 6 children. Narendra Modi was at number three.

Heeraben loved to walk
Prahlad Modi, the younger son of Heeraben , tells that the mother was always happy and healthy because of her positive and religious thoughts. If she ever had any physical problem, she would be cured by home remedies. Heeraben preferred to walk to get around. In her free time, she used to sit on the swing and interact with the children of the neighborhood. Due to being elderly, the women of the neighborhood also used to take many types of advice from him.
