LSG won the match by 5 runs Mohsin Khan bowled brilliantly in the last over

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pace bowler put up a sensational performance in the final over of their IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) to guide his team to a five-run win at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday. Needing 11 to win in the final over, MI had the edge with Tim David and Cameron Green in the middle but left-arm pacer Mohsin put up a brilliant show and conceded only five runs in the final over under tremendous pressure.

Mohsin Khan bowled a brilliant final over to guide his team to a win at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, May 16. The left-arm pacer conceded just 5 runs while defending 11 runs in the last over of the match. He finished his spell with 1/26 in his three-over quota.

He Was In The Hospital For The Last 10 Days – Mohsin Khan

In post-match interview, Mohsin Khan spoke about the tough phase he faced in recent times and said that his father had been in the intensive care unit for the last 10 days.

“Been a tough time as I was injured, playing after a year. My father got discharged from the ICU yesterday and he was in the hospital for the last 10 days and I did it for him, he would have been watching,” Mohsin Khan said after the match.

Earlier, the Lucknow team put up a total of 177 runs in 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis shone with the bat and scored 89 runs off 47 balls. In response, the five-time IPL champions got a good start from the openers. However, their middle-order batters didn’t contribute, as they fell short by two runs.

The Lucknow-based franchise climbed to third place with 15 points in the 10-team table. The Krunal Pandya-led team boosted their play-off chances with the victory against the Mumbai Indians. The LSG will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last league match at Eden Gardens on Saturday, May 20.

“The run-up is the same, did not change it in the last over. I was trying to calm myself down, not look at the scoreboard and bowl the 6 balls well. “Since the wicket was gripping, I tried the slower ball, but I bowled two of those and then changed to the yorker and it was reversing as well.”

Mohsin Khan also revealed how a career-threatening injury laid him low last season. “I went through a career threatening injury. I once had a feeling that I couldn’t play again. Doctors said if I was a month late in that surgery, they might have to cut my hand off. LSG team supported me the most,” Mohsin said.
