Surya Grahan 2023: Know what to do and what to avoid during solar eclipse

According to Hindi Panchang, the first solar eclipse of the year 2023 is falling on Vaishakh Amavasya. Rahu and Ketu have a negative effect on the earth at the time of eclipse. For this, no auspicious work is done at the time of solar or lunar eclipse. Also, the solar eclipse should not be seen with naked eyes. Harmful ultraviolet rays emanating from the Sun during an eclipse can damage the eyes.

What not to do

According to astrologers, pregnant women should not use scissors, needle, blade or knife at the time of solar or lunar eclipse. It is forbidden to bite during an eclipse in the scriptures. Doing so can cause physical or mental deformity in the child.

According to scriptures, pregnant women should not pluck fruits, flowers, leaves or wood during an eclipse. By doing this, eclipse seems to be the fault.

– No religious or auspicious work including worship should be done during solar or lunar eclipse. It is forbidden to do auspicious work at the time of eclipse in the scriptures.

Do not cook food during eclipse. When hungry, eat only things containing Tulsi Dal. It is a religious belief that the effect of Rahu and Ketu gets diminished by Tulsi group. At the same time, one should stay at home at the time of eclipse.

What to do

According to astrologers, pregnant women should keep coconut with them at the time of eclipse. This ends the effect of eclipse. After the eclipse is over, let the coconut flow in the flowing water stream.

– Pregnant women should apply ocher on the stomach at the time of eclipse. By doing this remedy, there is no negative effect on the unborn child.
