Challenge before Congress
The challenge before the party in the second phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra is twofold. There is opposition government in Punjab and Haryana. There is an issue of security in Kashmir and weather is hitting because of the cold. But right now the biggest challenge is to make the Yatra a success in UP. According to the information, Priyanka Gandhi will already be present to welcome the yatra in UP. The yatra will last three days in UP, but preparations are being made for weeks in advance. The party has given full strength to show the existence of the party alive in a politically barren land like UP. It is also being said that some non-political celebrities may also participate in the yatra in UP.
Bharat Jodo has yet to complete a journey of about 650 km to reach Srinagar in the second phase. Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal along with Congress leaders met Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday for the security of Yatra in Kashmir. After the meeting, Venugopal said that full cooperation has been assured for the security of the yatra. However, the yatra is yet to pass through four states. The Congress has fixed January 26 as the date for the conclusion of the yatra.
